Dev Log 03.04.26 - Current Progress and Adjustments
Hello again, all! This week we’ll be looking at a few changes and adjustments we’ve decided to make during our Festival testing process. The Festival update is not quite ready to post yet but should be ready in a week or two. We’ve got the Romance update to follow, so we’ll likely be incommunicado for 1, 2, or 3 posts. Sorry, but we really want to focus on getting Romance out to you as quickly as possible!
We’ve rebalanced crop and livestock reel formations to better help produce wins. This is an attempt to adjust things so that you can potentially play an entire game with only farming (or at least, very limited foraging). Right now, a lot of supplemental income comes from mushroom and Flower Temple foraging. From now on, you should experience wins of 50+ on a single roll, and if you’ve maxed your experience stats towards multipliers, upwards of 300+ on a single roll!
Speaking of experience, we hope the farming rebalances will also help you accrue experience more quickly. We’ve also decided to slice Experience Store prices in half for the items you can buy.
Next, we’ve overhauled the crafting system so it doesn’t suck now, lol. The initial offering was a good effort, but it was just a little too complicated. We’ve simplified things by removing badge requirements and level progressions. Now – if you have the recipe and ingredients – you can craft whatever you want whenever you want!
We also revisited crafting ingredients requirements and prices per recipe. Things make sense now! If you craft something, you will always have an item with a sale price higher than the crafting cost – so now you can actually make money by crafting, ha ha ha!
Finally, the sewing bench is now in game. You’ll be able to craft any recipes you find out in the world or in the shops. Remember, you have to receive or buy an initial copy of an outfit to receive its recipe. Sewing will be a good way to make money if you don’t want to farm or forage as we’ve adjusted clothes costs and ingredients required.
Clothes distribution in the Flower Temple has been rebalanced (lowered), so you won’t find as many of them as you used to. This will hopefully prevent gaining too much money too quickly. There are also a few Flower Temple specific clothes that, when received, won’t give you a recipe to work with. That’s because their flower ingredients are now located in countries that still need to be implemented! When the flowers exist in game again, the recipes will, too.
